#Repost @mcgill_rare with @repostapp ・・・ We are leafing through this canning and preserving recipe book from the Canada Food Board and defiantly thinking of summer fruits and vegetables as we brace for more snow here in Montreal. Published in 1918, it features a number of recipes as well as tips for how to store, can, dry fruits and veggies, including shelf lives of various preserved fruits and vegetables and helpful storage tips. Canning was, and still is, a very important way to guarantee access to perishable produce during the winter months. This book may be found in our Cookery collection, both in print and online (link in bio) | Canada Food Board | Fruit and vegetables : canning, drying, storing | Ottawa : Canada Food Board, 1918 | RBD COOK TX601 .F78 1918 #nutritionmonth #canadiana150 #fruit #mcgillrarebooks #cookbookcollection #librariesofinstagram #iglibraries #fb
