Aquí tenemos buñuelos de trigo.... #Repost @turinmamma (@get_repost) ・・・ Today's kitchen project - another Carnival recipe by Pellegrino Artusi. In Piedmont, we call these serrated-edged fritters, said to be of Roman origins, bugie, which translates literally as 'lies'. In Tuscany (Artusi's adopted home region) though, they're called cenci or 'rags'. Elsewhere in Italy, they have other amusing names. At the request of TP, I made Artusi's #bomboloni / #krapfen again as well. And, since the author of the 1891 cookbook had a rather annoying habit of not including egg whites in many of his recipes, I made some meringues too. #foodblogger #recipetesting #cookbooks #historicalrecipes #historicalcookbooks #pellegrinoartusi #f52grams #huffposttaste #guardiancook #bbcfood #carnival #carnevale #carnivalfritters #cencidicarnevale #bugiedicarnevale #leftovereggwhites #meringues #meringhe #turinmamma #akitcheninturin
